ProTeam garners top private company honor
Tuesday, November 11, 2003
BOISE, ID — Vacuum cleaner manufacturer ProTeam announced via press release that it has been honored once again as one of Idaho's top 75 private companies.

Gleaned from a list of 350 candidates, corporations on the Idaho Private 75 are top performers in the state as measured by annual revenue and management excellence.

State officials and business leaders acknowledged these top 75 firms during a luncheon at Boise Centre MMMMMShideler
on the Grove on October 29.

The Idaho Private 75 tribute is a joint venture between the Idaho Statesman newspaper, US Bank Idaho and KPMG.

According to the Statesman, "Companies on the Idaho Private 75 account for approximately $12.1 billion in annual revenue, and employ 53,934 people, with 23,871 of those workers employed in Idaho."

According to Leslie Hurst, president and publisher of the Statesman, "We're proud to join our Idaho Private 75 partners to honor the entrepreneurial spirit of Idaho's top private enterprises.

These businesses are innovative good community citizens and place great emphasis on serving their customers. They compete globally — with spirit and innovation and an eye to the future."

According to Anthony Olbrich, senior vice president of Boise metro commercial banking for US Bank: "Being successful in tough economic times is really not much different than being successful in better times. I think management quality is the most critical factor that distinguishes a successful business from the rest.

"The most successful business leaders I've observed have developed a core set of business principles that they stress to their subordinate managers and the entire workforce of the business every day and in every way," Olbrich said. "They not only talk about these core principles but they live them and thereby model them to their associates."

"Companies today face many challenges from technology, resources, competition and ...(many) other factors," said Bonnie Thiele, lead coordinator for operation services for KPMG. "The fast paced economy has proven to be a challenge for many, and ... (willingness to) change seems to be the underlying theme to success. Keeping abreast of issues that directly affect each market place, and a keen sense to customer needs is always at the top of the list of any successful company."

"We are very gratified to be honored in this way," said ProTeam Chairman/CEO Larry Shideler in the prepared statement. "ProTeam owes its success to its many employees who continually seek to improve our products and services to enable better, faster and healthier cleaning for our customers."
