School District Cuts Plumbing Costs With Sofidel

Problem
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fulton County School District switched from air dryers to paper towels to support hand hygiene. However, students flushing towels led to frequent toilet clogs and plumbing issues.

Solution
In July 2024, the district began using Sofidel Dissolve Tech hand towels, which dissolve in under three minutes when flushed. Now, over 70% of the district is using them.

Results
Since switching to Dissolve Tech, the district has:

  • Reduced toilet clogs by 80% in schools using Dissolve Tech.
  • Reduced plumbing and related labor expenses.
  • Improved the appearance and hygiene of school restrooms.

“We expect strong savings across the county as we continue to roll Dissolve Tech out,” said Eric Flint, coordinator of environmental services, Fulton County School District.
