Three 3M Disinfectants Earn EPA COVID-19 Approval

3M Disinfectant

3M is playing a critical role in the global response to COVID-19. Now, more than ever, 3M’s Commercial Solutions Division understands ensuring a clean and healthy facility is critical. It is a huge task to safely reopen a public space without significant downtime. It requires navigating new coronavirus cleaning and disinfection protocols and making sure personnel are properly trained.

The 3M Commercial Solutions Division is dedicated to helping facility management teams navigate the complexities of reopening by providing the tools, products, and training to do so safely.

Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) started to approve disinfectants for the adoption of an efficacy claim for SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The 3M™ Disinfectant RCT Cleaner Concentrate (#40), 3M™ Quat Disinfectant Cleaner Concentrate (#5), and the 3M™ TB Quat Disinfectant Ready-To-Use Cleaner have been approved for the adoption of a SARS-CoV-2 efficacy claim. These approvals are part of the EPA’s efforts to provide the public with information on how to safely and effectively protect against SARS-CoV-2 on surfaces.

Commitment to customers

These EPA approvals reflect 3M’s commitment to developing innovative cleaning and disinfectant solutions that meet the needs of customers. Even with EPA approvals, 3M emphasizes that proper product use is critical to the effective and safe use of any disinfectant. When using a disinfectant, customers are instructed to follow label directions, including dwell time, for safe, effective use.
