2022 Young Scientist Finalists Chosen

July 12, 2022

3M, in partnership with Discovery Education, has announced the 10 finalists and four honorable mention recipients in the 2022 Young Scientist Challenge.

The 15th-annual middle school competition called for students in grades 5-8 to submit a video demonstrating an innovation that could provide a solution to an everyday problem. The 2022 Young Scientist finalists will receive a trip to 3M’s Innovation Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, to participate in an exclusive summer mentorship program with the company’s scientists. They will then compete in a final event this October when the grand prize winner and the Improving Lives Award winner will be determined. The winning student will be crowned “America’s Top Young Scientist” and receive the US$25,000 grand prize.
