Finalists Revealed for 2020 Young Scientist Contest

June 25, 2020

3M, in partnership with Discovery Education, has announced the 10 finalists in the 2020 Young Scientist Challenge.

The 13th-annual contest called for students in grades 5-8 to submit a video demonstrating an innovation that could provide a solution to an everyday problem. A panel of judges selected 10 finalists who will now be paired with a 3M scientist to create an invention that solves the problem they identified.

All 10 finalists will receive US$1,000 and the opportunity to work virtually with a 3M scientist to develop a prototype of their invention. 3M will host an interactive online competition to determine the winner in October. The winning student will be crowned “America’s Top Young Scientist” and receive $25,000. To learn more about the Young Scientist Challenge, click here.
