Retired NBA point guard Anthony “Spud” Webb presented the 2018 ISSA Innovation of the Year Award to Hydro System Co.’s EvoClean water-powered laundry chemical dispenser at the ISSA Show North America 2018 in Dallas, TX.
Webb, who played in the NBA for 12 seasons with four different teams, averaging 10 points and five assists per game, is known for winning a slam dunk contest in 1986 despite being one of the shortest players in league history. EvoClean is known for being the world’s first venturi-based, water-powered dispenser for on-premise laundry applications.
Prior to turning the stage over to Webb, ISSA Executive Director John Barrett announced the four honorable mention winners:
- Tork PeakServe Continuous™ Towel Refill and System from Essity Professional Hygiene North America LLC
- Scotch-Brite™ Clean & Shine Pad from 3M Commercial Solutions Division
- KIRA B50 Intelligent Cleaning Robot from Kärcher North America
- KOLO Smart Monitoring System from GP PRO (Georgia-Pacific).
“The nominated products were among the best we’ve ever seen,” said Barrett. “Because the competition was so tough, our judges really struggled. Although it was hard, we have one winner and four honorable mentions. It’s a great deal.”
The winners were selected by combining the results of the online voting with the evaluations of a panel of judges, all respected leaders in the commercial cleaning industry. And for the first time ever, it was an all-women panel.
