SC Johnson Opens Registration for 2026 Happy Hands Contest

October 1, 2025

SC Johnson Professional has opened registration for its annual Happy Hands dispenser design contest, inviting kindergarten through 12th grade students across the U.S. to explore the importance of regular hand washing and sanitizing in schools.

The contest, open to all public and private schools nationwide, encourages students to design custom hand soap and sanitizer dispensers that visually reinforce good hand hygiene practices. Each student may submit one original design by Dec. 31 in one of two categories: elementary school (kindergarten to fifth grade) and middle/high school (sixth to 12th grade).

Submissions will be judged on creativity, visual appeal, hand hygiene messaging, and originality. Finalists in each category will be announced on March 2, 2026. The public will vote for their favorite designs on the Happy Hands contest website. Voting will remain open until 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on March 31, 2026.

Grand prize winners from each category will be announced in spring 2026. Each winning student will receive a US$300 gift card, while their school will be awarded $1,000 and up to 1,000 manual soap and sanitizer dispensers with the student’s design.

After registering for the contest, schools will receive access to design templates and free hand washing educational materials for their students. Click here to view the complete official rules and register.
