Sodexo Deploys Robotic Food Delivery Service

January 15, 2020

Sodexo has successfully deployed a robotic food delivery service on the University of Pittsburgh campus.

Developed with Starship Technologies, Sodexo’s fleet of 30 autonomous, on-demand robots are programmed to deliver food to students and faculty from seven campus restaurants. Sodexo launched a similar program at Georgia Mason University in Virginia last year.

“We are always looking for opportunities to provide added convenience and ease for today’s busy college student,” said Jonathan Crayton, Sodexo’s general manager at University of Pittsburgh. “We are excited to partner with Pitt and Starship to expand the robot delivery program.”
