Tampa Cleaning Companies Unite to Help Orphanage

July 29, 2021

A group of cleaning companies in Tampa, Florida, is uniting to help charitable organizations in their local community that can’t afford cleaning services.

Recently, the nonprofit group Cleaning Community Gives Back came together to clean the flooring at Hope Children’s Home, which provides children in need a place to live, along with education and sports programs. The orphanage serves 70 children on a 55-acre campus.

“Because we are completely community-supported, we don’t take any state or federal funds, to have all of our carpets and floorings cleaned would be thousands of dollars. There’s no way we could do it,” the home’s executive director, Mike Higgins, told Tampa Bay 10 News. “We are so grateful for this organization that comes together with groups of professional cleaners to serve the community.”

Lisa Jordan, co-owner of residential and commercial carpet cleaning company Accent American Inc., organized the project. “Now, this children’s home is refreshed and clean. And the cleaners themselves feel the same way,” Jordan said. “Everyone walks away with such a glow because of giving back. That’s why we do it.”

Cleaning Community Gives Back brought together four companies and 10 volunteers for this project. Gecko Floor Care, Triple C Carpet Care, Accent American, and Tampa Steam Team donated their time and supplies.

Cleaning Community Gives Back, run by Jordan and her husband, has brought local cleaning companies together to provide their services to the Tampa Bay Ronald McDonald House and many other local nonprofits since 2014. Learn more here.
