Amazon Adapts Robots for Cleaning

Amazon.com, Inc. has developed patent-pending technology that would allow its warehouse robots—already used for transporting and restocking products throughout the warehouse—to be used for cleaning as well.

According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the robots will use detachable tools instead of being specialized for specific tasks, allowing Amazon to use one machine for a variety of jobs. The robots can be configured to mop, scrub, wax, or sweep in addition to their current stocking capabilities.
