Last Chance to Nominate for School Custodian of the Year

February 28, 2022

The deadline to submit entries for Cintas Corp.’s Custodian of the Year contest is Tuesday, March 1.

The ninth-annual contest calls for elementary, middle, high-school, and college students, in addition to staff, to submit a short essay describing why their school’s custodian deserves the award. Cintas will reveal the 10 finalists on March 15, at which time online voting for the winning custodian will commence on the company’s website.

The winning custodian will receive US$10,000 and an additional $5,000 in Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Cintas products for his/her school. The winner’s school will also receive a comprehensive training, development, and consultation package from ISSA valued at $20,000 and enrollment in the GBAC Fundamentals Online Course, provided by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), a Division of ISSA. The nine runners-up will each receive $1,000 and free tuition to one ISSA Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) training event, valued at up to $1,500.

“As the pandemic continues, custodians have adapted to increased cleaning measures to help ensure students, staff and visitors are entering clean and healthy learning facilities,” said Christiny Betsch, Cintas marketing manager. “From disinfecting and cleaning to being a positive role model for students of all ages, this contest sheds a light on the hard work school custodians put in every day.”
