Straight Talk on the Relationship Between the Cleaning and Aviation Industries

February 16, 2021

In July 2020, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, established a formal partnership to accredit airports that meet the highest levels of cleanliness and safety.

The partnership has proved to be a fruitful one as earlier this month AAAE announced 21 airports across North America have achieved GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation, with more than 30 additional airports committing to pursue accreditation.

In the latest episode of Straight Talk!, Spencer Dickerson, AAAE senior executive vice president of global operations discusses the symbiotic relationship between the cleaning and aviation industries. Dickerson discusses how the airlines have been impacted by the COIVD-19 pandemic and how working with GBAC has assisted airports on the road to recovery by providing travelers with a heightened level of comfort in the facilities’ safety and cleanliness.
