Today Is Thank Your Cleaner Day

International day of appreciation is the ideal opportunity to recognize your cleaning staff

If you don’t have a plan yet to recognize your company’s cleaning staff or your facility’s housekeepers, you still have some time. Today is International Thank Your Cleaner Day (TYCD), sponsored by the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) and Kärcher.

TYCD began in 2015 in New Zealand and has since spread across the globe as a day to celebrate the central role professional cleaners play in ensuring safety and hygiene in society. The work of cleaning staff is an essential component in the fight against pathogens such as the coronavirus.

Consider several examples of ways you can show your cleaning staff that you appreciate their hard work such as:

  • Printing out the TYCD poster for use around your offices and organizations
  • Buying your cleaners lunch
  • Leaving your cleaners a note of appreciation
  • Adding the TYCD poster images to your website, favorite social media channels, or email communications
  • Spreading TYCD awareness by posting on social media.
