Cintas Crowns 2017 Janitor of the Year

Cintas Corp. has named Ted Qualli of Newtown Elementary School in Newtown, PA, winner of its 2017 Janitor of the Year contest.

The contest, now in its fourth year, called for elementary, middle, high school, and college students and staff to submit a short essay describing why their school’s janitor deserves the award. The public then voted for the top pick from 10 finalists selected by Cintas.

Qualli, who received 379,300 out of the 898,200 online votes cast, was presented with a cash prize of US$5,000 and an additional $5,000 in Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Cintas products for his school. The nine runners-up will each receive $500.
