ISSA Show North America 2022, held at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, Monday, Oct. 10 through Thursday, Oct. 13, had over 11,000 attendees, up 10% from the 2021 show.
One of the show’s spotlight speakers, Uganda native Derreck Kayongo, told the audience at Monday’s Lunch and Learn that he was shocked when he learned how much soap was thrown away in American hotels. He was inspired to create the Global Soap Project, an international aid organization that reprocessed used soap from hotels to distribute to people in need.
Education was the main focus on Monday, as participants attended sessions for building service contractors, facility managers, environmental service workers, and others in the cleaning industry.
Attendees eagerly awaited the opening of the show floor on Tuesday.
The show floor featured more than 500 exhibitors from 20 countries.
Theaters scattered across the show floor, such the Solve for X Theater, made attending education sessions convenient.
