Kärcher Redefines Cleaning With Autonomous Cleaning Robots

Kärcher has long been known as a global leader for commercial cleaning equipment and continues to be successful with the introduction of Kärcher Intelligent Robotic Applications, or KIRA. Working closely with our software provider Brain Corp., KIRA products are the most groundbreaking and easy-to-use autonomous floor vacuums and scrubbers in the market.

Retail has been on the forefront of autonomous cleaning, recognizing the immense value of co-robots, leading the way by allowing staff to focus on other tasks. For example, in a grocery
store it may take two to three hours for a staff member to run a traditional manual scrubber up and down the aisles and around displays. During the shift, that same staff member may need to clean the restrooms, wash and sanitize surfaces, stock the shelves, and break down freight. With the use of the KIRA B100R autonomous scrubber, the operator starts the unit at the beginning of their shift allowing KIRA to scrub the programmed route. The staff member then focuses on the other tasks which cannot be maintained autonomously. The daily reduction of labor costs based on three hours a day for seven days is 21 hours in just one week! Business managers can monitor KIRA through a phone app to see up-to-date usage data daily, weekly, and monthly.

The hospitality industry has taken a hit in recent years with a lack of skilled labor. This has prompted the need for more innovative solutions giving those in the industry a return on investment within three months to a year. Kärcher’s KIRA CV60/1 autonomous vacuum, notably the first professional vacuum in the marketplace, allows users to easily program the unit for large cleaning applications. Customers using KIRA collaborate alongside the vacuum to cover large areas allocating their staff the freedom to complete other tasks while the KIRA is operating. Working with autonomous equipment takes away the monotonous labor of an employee riding on a vacuum or floor scrubber, utilizing staff more efficiently to focus on smaller tasks.

KIRA follows programed paths, sensing when people or obstacles are in its path, making it very safe. Plus, KIRA sends real-time notifications via the app if anything has changed. Kärcher tests
all KIRA autonomous products at its Colorado manufacturing facility before they leave the factory and offers 24-hour field support and setup. Co-bots are the wave of the future, and Kärcher is
at the forefront.
