February 7, 2020

Aramark has agreed to a new contract with custodial workers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The new deal culminates more than two months of negotiation between Aramark and 32BJ SEIU, the union representing Carnegie Mellon’s custodial staff. According to The Tartan, the contract calls for a new wage structure that will see the workers receive an additional US$0.50 per hour each year for three years, beginning in 2021. In addition, the new deal includes enhanced overtime provisions and an updated sexual harassment policy.
