Are you into savings? No, not the kind you typically think of. The world’s largest hotel chain has decided to eliminate small plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel from its guest rooms. When you think about it, this means some 500 million small bottles each year are eliminated from Marriott brand guest rooms.

This week, we released the Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine’s September issue, featuring “Big Data.” And now you ask…What is Big Data? It’s what you are no doubt gathering in your organization, but the challenge is understanding what to do with it and how to benefit from it. Here is some great advice. Panic buttons are a hot topic this week, as a hotel housekeeper found herself in trouble and could have benefitted from a panic button. New legislation is in play to help fix this issue.
