Dallas Working Toward Hospitality Safety With GBAC STAR Accreditation
As cities prepare to open their tourism and hospitality facilities, Dallas is one step ahead as the first city to commit to achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA.
VisitDallas and the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (DTPID) have announced a collaborative initiative to assist the city’s hospitality industry achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation. The DTPID and VisitDallas will implement and fund the effort for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas and hotels within the Dallas tourism public improvement district. Dallas aims to be the first destination to receive GBAC STAR accreditation.
Additionally, VisitDallas will sponsor scholarships for facility personnel at city-owned arts and cultural institutions to enroll in the GBAC Online Fundamentals Course, which trains individuals on infection and contamination control measures for infectious disease outbreak situations such as the novel coronavirus.

Earlier this week, the NFL’s Miami Dolphins announced the team’s home field, Hard Rock Stadium, has committed to achieving GBAC STAR™ accreditation as well. See the growing list of other organizations that have committed to this accreditation in this official announcement from ISSA.
