Join the Campaign for Additional Paycheck Protection Program Funding

April 21, 2020

ISSA has launched an advocacy campaign to urge U.S. Congress to pass additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act has provided much-needed assistance to small- and medium-sized cleaning industry manufacturers and distributors, as well as to cleaning service providers, who, like other small businesses, are hurting as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. But critical funding called the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which was made available to cleaning-related businesses as a result of the CARES Act, has officially run out, which only adds to the uncertainty cleaning industry professionals are facing at this time.

“We urge Congress to quickly pass additional funding for the PPP so cleaning-related and other small businesses can continue operating during these uncertain times,” said John Nothdurft, ISSA Director of Government Affairs. “Simply complete the form on the ISSA Action Center to tell Congress you support additional funding of PPP and encourage your customers, employees, and vendors to do so as well.”

Take action now: urge your congressional delegation to provide additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program

ISSA is working diligently to support the full-spectrum of the cleaning industry, both in the United States and internationally, during the COVID-19 emergency. The association engaged in discussions with White House officials to maintain a strong supply chain for critical supplies in the face of this crisis. We urged the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as well as the governors of all 50 states and U.S.territories to recognize the cleaning industry as essential as they consider potential restrictions to business operations. Additionally, ISSA called on the U.S. Department of Labor to broadly apply paid leave exemptions for small businesses during this challenging time.
