COVID-19 Update: We Have Resources for Your Coronavirus Cleaning Questions
Pandemic news changes daily. What doesn’t change is the need to follow proper cleaning protocols and best practices to remove the SARS-CoV-2 virus from surfaces and help stop the spread of COVID-19.
The Global BioRisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, recently published two additional tip sheets for cleaning and restoration professionals addressing the recent outbreak of SARS-CoV-2.
In Tip Sheet #4: How to Clean & Disinfect Commercial Cleaning Equipment, GBAC details the proper procedures for maintaining equipment in non-healthcare settings. Tip Sheet #5: How to Clean & Disinfect for Coronavirus in Healthcare Environments outlines the steps necessary to protect patients, workers, and visitors from the coronavirus. These tip sheets are the latest in a series from GBAC on the current coronavirus outbreak. The council has issued tip sheets on personal protective equipment, risk assessment procedures, and using disinfectants.
GBAC has also launched a special online training program to teach cleaning professionals to prepare for respond to, and recover from biohazards. Find out more on the 2-3 hour Microbial Warrior™ Workshop here.
ISSA has been creating a library of Straight Talk videos to address questions on a myriad of cleaning topics, from handling mold and dead cleaning equipment batteries in buildings closed down during the pandemic to best practices for disinfecting surfaces.
