Protesters Clean as They March

March 23, 2021

Protests have become associated with destruction as looters took to the street during rallies to destroy public property and steal goods. Black Lives Matter protestors in Portland, Oregon, last weekend, decided to clean the neighborhood as they rallied, in contrast to the violence that has broken out in recent weeks, The Oregonian reports.

As protestors handed out political fliers, they also passed out bottles of window cleaner and cloths. Protestors sprayed and wiped shop windows as they marched through Portland’s Pearl District. They also stopped to pick up trash along their route, striving to improve the neighborhood as they spread their message.
