School Custodian’s Gratitude for Gifted Car Goes Viral
When a custodian at Unity Grove Elementary School in Locust Grove, Georgia was struggling to find a ride to work, teachers and staff at the school pitched in and bought him a vehicle, NBC-News reports.
Chris Jackson had been saving to buy a car but due to financial difficulties over the summer he wasn’t able to save enough. When he couldn’t catch a ride to the school or public transportation took too long, he would walk to work.
In appreciation for his dedication to his job, staff presented him with the keys to his dream car—a Chevrolet Impala. Jackson’s stunned reaction went viral and has racked up 1.5 million views and thousands of online shares and comments.
Jackson said people all over the country have called him to say they enjoyed seeing his expression after receiving his gift.
“When you see me, have a laugh,” he said. “We can chuckle about it, we can talk about it. But that was one of the greatest moments of life, and can’t nobody change that, they can’t take that away from me.”
