Search Engine Celebrates Custodians Working Through the Pandemic

April 13, 2020

If you used the search engine Google recently, you probably noticed its daily doodles have been a tribute to frontline workers during the COVID-19 crisis. The company is continuing to thank these workers by releasing a new doodle each day over the next two weeks.

On April 9, the doodle honored custodial and sanitation workers, many who have been busy cleaning and disinfecting hospitals, stores, and other essential facilities open during the pandemic. The doodle depicted an animated heart moving from the “G” to the “e” in Google, with the  “e” drawn to look like a custodian holding a mop with a face mask on. A mop bucket, trash can, and spray bottle are drawn to the side of the letters (See it here).

The Google series also has shown appreciation to health care workers, teachers, and food service workers.
