A Cleaning Checklist for Higher Education Facilities

Find out if your custodial team is hitting its mark

Surveying customers is one way to find out how well your custodial team is cleaning. But what items should you include in the survey?

Click here to access a sample of a service assessment/inspection form, which can help to determine the effectiveness of the cleaning in educational facilities. The form, provided by William Blumenthal, vice president of Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PC4HS), is just one of several ways that education facilities can evaluate their cleaning teams and methods.

All types of metrics—from appearance to fiscal metrics—are helpful in determining the effectiveness of education custodial crews. For more information on these cleaning metrics, and how to implement them for better results and customer service, look to PC4HS President Rex Morrison’s article, “Reorganizing Custodial Departments in Higher Education,” in the May 2014 issue of Cleaning and Maintenance Management.
