Cleaning for Infection Prevention

During cold and flu season, the efforts of both in-house and building service contractors to prevent and stop the spread of germs and bacteria becomes even more imperative.

ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, has provided a guide that focuses on the critical role that an effective cleaning and hand hygiene program plays in preventing the transmission of seasonal influenza, the common cold, and protecting human health.

The guide provides recommended cleaning and disinfection practices for a number of facilities, as well as the rules to proper hand hygiene, which can help stop the spread of germs as effectively as cleaning.

To read about these tips and more, including how employers can have an impact on reducing exposure to the cold and flu, download the entire guide here.
