EU Vacuum Ban Begins September 1

In less than a week, European Union (EU) regulations go into effect banning the sale of vacuum cleaners with motors more powerful than 900 watts, Which? reports.

In addition to reducing the maximum vacuum wattage from 1,600 to 900, the new vacuum cleaner energy label rules also restriction vacuum noise levels and stipulate minimum durability requirements. The restrictions were set to save energy.
