3M Contest Seeking Middle School Scientists

February 10, 2022

3M, in partnership with Discovery Education, has launched the 2022 Young Scientist Challenge.

The 15th-annual middle school competition calls for students in grades 5-8 to submit a video demonstrating an innovation that could provide a solution to an everyday problem. A panel of judges will select 10 finalists in June. The finalists will receive a trip to 3M’s Innovation Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, to participate in an exclusive summer mentorship program with the company’s scientists.

The winning student will be announced in October and will be crowned “America’s Top Young Scientist” and receive the US$25,000 grand prize.
