ACI Announces New Director

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) has appointed Dr. Ashley N. Queen to the newly created position of director of microbiology and public health.

Queen joins ACI from the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA), where she was a senior staff fellow in the center for drug evaluation and research performing CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls) biologic drug review. She previously served as a commissioner’s fellow for the FDA’s Office of Regulatory Affairs. In her new position, Queen will lead ACI’s Topical Antiseptics Program, a multi-year research

“Ashley joins ACI with extensive knowledge as an accomplished microbiologist, having worked in government, nonprofit, and academic settings,” said Dr. James Kim, ACI Vice President. “Initially, she will focus on ACI’s Topical Antiseptics Program. Down the line, she will also support potential future projects on the microbiome and probiotic cleaning.”
