Cintas Reveals America’s Best Restroom Winner

October 3, 2023

Cintas Corp. has named the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport in Baltimore, Maryland, the winner of its annual America’s Best Restroom® Contest.

The awards program, now in its 22nd year, honors nonresidential, publicly accessible restrooms that place hygiene and style at the top of their priority list and recognize the parallel between clean restrooms and customer retention.

The airport’s recently constructed restrooms maximize occupancy while delivering an enhanced experience, including an aesthetic mural and spacious seating area near the entrance. The restrooms also feature bright, spacious, fully enclosed stalls along with touchless fixtures. Each restroom at BWI has a state-of-the-art smart restroom system that integrates with color-changing, LED stall occupancy lights and provides real-time inventory tracking and usage counts to custodial services.

As the grand prize winner, BWI will receive a Cintas UltraClean® restroom cleaning along with US$2,500 worth of facility services. The airport will also be enshrined in Cintas’ America’s Best Restroom Contest Hall of Fame.

“The state of their public restroom can have large impact on the public’s perception of a business,” said Julia Walsh, Cintas marketing manager. “The BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport restrooms are bright and airy and the embodiment of clean, with natural light and room for luggage. We’re proud to crown them as America’s Best Restroom.”
