Colgate-Palmolive Makes Soap Donation to Handwashing Campaign

April 8, 2020

Colgate-Palmolive Co. has dedicated five of its manufacturing plants on three continents to producing bars of soap for the World Health Organization’s (WHO) #SafeHands campaign.

The #SafeHands campaign is a WHO initiative to educate the public on proper handwashing techniques and provide underserved communities with access to soap to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The soap produced by Colgate will be specially packaged with instructions on proper handwashing to amplify the WHO’s message.

In addition, Colgate announced it has donated US$20 million in health and hygiene products to community-based organizations worldwide to distribute to those in need, Packaging Strategies reports.
