Effectiveness Outweighs Price in Equipment Selection

November 6, 2019

Given the large percentage of the overall operating budget spent on cleaning/maintenance equipment and supplies, facility mangers have the important responsibility of getting it right when it comes to purchasing equipment for their buildings.

Effectiveness (69%) ranked well above price (16%) as the driving force behind product purchases, according to facility managers who responded to the 2019 CMM In-House/Facility Management Benchmarking Survey.

The amount of equipment managers will purchase in a year—from hard floor scrubbers to batteries—can be staggering when you consider some facility managers oversee more than 20 buildings. Adding to the challenge are the numerous equipment options to choose from.

One resource that helps decision-makers stay on top of new equipment trends is the ISSA Innovation Award program. This annual program helps narrow down the selection process by featuring some of the latest and most innovative equipment on the market today.

As you assess your equipment needs for 2020, begin by viewing this year’s featured equipment entries and cast your vote for a chance to win a US$500 gift card!
