Integrating Power Follow-Ups Into Your Coaching

December 20, 2023

When applying observational coaching with your employees, you might want to try this novel strategy: the Power Follow-Up.

Jim Johnson, business development manager at Ciocca Cleaning & Restoration in Fort Wayne, Indiana, suggests using this technique as a way to ensure that workers continuously meet your company’s operational standards.

According to Johnson, upon inspecting your employees’ work, “The temptation is to focus only on what needs to be corrected. The tendency is to drill down on the deficiencies to eliminate the complaints.” But the Power Follow-Up goes beyond “catching” your workers doing something wrong and instead encourages them in a positive way to consistently do things the right way.

To learn the exact steps of this strategy and how examples on how to implement them into your employee coaching, check out the article Power Follow-Ups.
