Marquette University Custodians Agree to New Contract

September 12, 2019

Custodians at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, have agreed to a new three-year contract.

Representatives from Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which represents the school’s more than 120 custodians, stated the deal calls for the workers to receive guaranteed annual raises, holiday overtime pay, and healthcare benefits, Urban Milwaukee reports.

“We work hard to keep Marquette clean and healthy for students and faculty,” said SEIU Local 1 custodian Vanessa Henderson. “After coming together, we fought for and won the raises and better benefits we need to lift communities across Milwaukee.”
