Prepare for National CleanUp Day

September 9, 2021

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 18, the 5th annual National CleanUp Day®.

Held annually on the third Saturday in September in partnership with EARTHDAY.ORG, Keep America Beautiful®, and World Cleanup Day, National CleanUp Day addresses the issue of excess waste and litter across America, Outside Business Journal reports. Since its inception in 2017, hundreds of thousands of participants have helped clean up parks, beaches, rivers, and forests across the U.S., removing tons of litter in the process.

A wide variety of municipalities, cities, and large organizations support National CleanUp Day. Both organizations and individuals are encouraged to volunteer to remove litter in large, organized events, small neighborhood efforts, or even individual cleanups.

To view a map of cleanups, join a cleanup, or create your own, visit nationalcleanupday.org. All participants should adhere to local COVID-19 guidelines.
