Alabama Janitor Saves Student’s Life

Eddie Ash, a janitor at Morris Slingluff Elementary School in Dothan, AL, recently saved a young student’s life.

While walking the school’s hallway last week, Ash saw Kennedy Crews choking on a piece of candy. He immediately sprang into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging the candy, and saving the student’s life. Ash told WDHN-TV he first learned life-saving techniques while serving in the military in 1974, but recently participated in a refresher course to keep his skills current.
