School Helps Janitor Rebuild Home

Students and teachers of Allegany-Linestone Middle/High School in Allegany, NY, recently collected donations to help school custodian Larry Zimbardi after he lost his home to a fire.

“As soon as we heard what happened, a couple of teachers [and students] stepped up right away and asked what they could do,” Cory Pecorella, the school’s principal, told The Bradford Era. “As soon as we found out, [donations] began pouring in.”

Zimbardi, a custodian at Allegany-Linestone for 24 years, appreciates the outpouring of donations.

”Just the support has made a big difference, I didn’t think I could do it,” he said. “It’s helped, it’s helped a lot. It’s kept my sanity.”
