Whittaker continues history of innovation with new product launches

The average facility manager spends 80 percent of his or her budget on three tasks: vacuuming, trash collection, and restroom cleaning. Of that, labor is the largest portion of costs. With the Whittaker Smart Care® TRIO, facility managers and building services contractors can increase productivity, save on labor costs, and extend the life of carpets.

whittakerAnd now, facility managers and building services contractors have even more options when it comes to interim carpet cleaning with the launch of two new Smart Care® TRIO machines.

The Whittaker Smart Care® TRIO is now available in 12’’ and 25’’. This is in addition to the current lineup of 15’’ and 20’’ Smart Care® TRIOs on the market offering 50 percent more brushing action to clean large square footage facilities almost 50 percent faster. These two machines are the latest in a long line of innovation from the R.E. Whittaker Co.

Over 29 years ago, Whittaker innovated low-moisture encapsulation carpet cleaning. This cleaning method benefits everyone involved with the carpet—from the facility manager saving money on its replacement, to the building service contractor boosting cleaning productivity, to the carpet mill and interior designer taking pride when seeing carpets looking the same as they did the day they were installed. All Smart Care® systems also meet the standards of leading carpet mills and are recommended in many of their maintenance programs.

The 12’’ Smart Care® TRIO was developed to be more nimble and meet the needs of facility managers and building service contractors with smaller, tighter spaces to clean while the 25’’ Smart Care® TRIO was created in response to the need for an even larger footprint to cover large spaces in half the time.

The larger footprint isn’t the only reason the Smart Care® TRIO boosts productivity. A machine mounted solution tank removes the need for pre-spraying. So regardless of what size Smart Care® TRIO machine, facility managers and building service contractors still experience the benefits.

A recent independent, third party Time and Motion Study by the American Institute for Cleaning Services concluded that the 20” Whittaker Smart Care® TRIO system increases productivity time and cleans 12,352 square feet per hour in unobstructed hallways. The study was performed using the TRIO machine over a 1,000 square foot area and even took power cord management into account. The study also concluded that by eliminating non-productive time and using an intuitive cleaning system, in-house service providers can increase labor efficiencies and reduce hours or dollars from their bottom line.
