Albuquerque School Custodian Shot

June 27, 2023

According to KRQE-TV news, a person believed to be a middle school custodian in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was allegedly shot on June 23, by a group of four people he caught trespassing on school grounds just before 6 a.m. MT.

The custodian, whose name and condition had not yet been released by Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) out of privacy concerns, worked at Kennedy Middle School.

Without much news about whether the subjects were still at large, neighbors near the school reported being on edge following the incident. “It is very, very scary to think that now you are even afraid to go walk your dog,” a nearby resident told KRQE.

Albuquerque police were reportedly investigating the shooting, but as of June 24, no suspects in the case had been apprehended.
