CMM Weekly News Recap: Week of March 11

March 15, 2019

ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association and publisher of CMM, has been making industry headlines this week by publishing updates on developments coming out of Washington, D.C.

As mentioned in today’s top story, ISSA has provided a breakdown of how a federal overtime pay proposal from the U.S. Department of Labor would impact contract cleaning companies, facility management budgets, and other vertical markets in the industry. Also policy related, the worldwide cleaning industry association praised President Trump’s signing of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act, an agreement that “reauthorizes an important mechanism for getting new innovative and safe chemical products to market more quickly through 2023.”

With the constant change taking place across the industry and our country, it’s important to stay in the know about the latest developments, whether regulatory or tactile solutions. This week’s news showcased solutions for both, including a spotlight about the inaugural Clean Buildings Expo, taking place March 26-27, in Baltimore, MD; CMM’s free carpet care webinar; and a new online training partnership with Marquette University.
