Comment Period Extended for OSHA Emergency COVID-19 Standard

July 14, 2021

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has extended the comment period for the COVID-19 healthcare emergency temporary standard (ETS) to August 20.

According to OSHA, the extended commenting period will allow for additional input from stakeholders. Currently, most states have approved plans to help protect workers from contracting COVID-19 on the job but there is no nationwide standard. Last month, representatives from ISSA participated in a stakeholder meeting with the White House’s Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) on a possible ETS.
