Get Ready to Celebrate Earth Day

This year’s commemoration calls for an investment in the planet

April 21, 2022

Businesses in the cleaning industry, along with all companies and individuals, are called to invest in the planet—the message for Earth Day 2022 which is celebrated on Friday, April 22.

“For Earth Day 2022, we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). It’s going to take all of us. All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens—everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet,” stated EarthDay.org.

Earthday.org’s mission is to diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Since commemorating the first Earth Day in 1970, the organization has grown to a leading recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet.

The cleaning industry is working to be in step with Earth Day’s mission, with its focus on green cleaning and sustainable manufacturing practices. Numerous companies including Ecolab Inc., ISS, Aramark, Kimberly-Clark Professional, and Medline Industries Inc., are moving toward reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, improving their recycling efforts, and increasing their investment in solar and wind power.

Recent studies have found employees seek out companies that offer environmentally friendly workplaces. Building service contractors and cleaning companies that improve their sustainability practices have found these actions not only help protect the environment, but also promote social responsibility, increase worker retention, and improve their bottom line.

Learn how you can promote your company’s green and sustainable practices on Earth Day and all year long.
