IFMA Teams to Form Pact for Sustainable Facility Skills

August 2, 2023

The International Facility Management Association (IFMA), an international association for professional facility managers with more than 19,000 members in 60 countries, joined two stakeholders in the European built environment to form the Pact for Skills for Sustainable Facilities in Europe.

The agreement calls for IFMA’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA)—IFMA EMEA—to team with the Representatives of European Heating and Ventilation Associations (REHVA) and the European Building Automation Controls Association (EU.BAC) to provide ongoing education, certification, and training to facility management professionals. The three organizations will also advance awareness of building operations performance and develop training resources for the European regions.

“Continuing education has always been important to building sector professionals, but even more so now amid rapidly advancing technologies, elevated focus on occupant well-being, and a global urgency to reduce buildings’ environmental impact,” said Lara Paemen, IFMA EMEA managing director.
