Portal Allows Contractors to Certify Compliance With Affirmative Action

December 6, 2021

The U.S. Department of Labor has launched an online portal for federal contractors and subcontractors to certify their compliance with annual Affirmative Action Program requirements.

The portal provides a method for federal contractors to certify each year whether they have developed and maintained Affirmative Action Programs for each establishment or functional unit. In addition, the portal will provide a secure method for contractors scheduled for compliance evaluations to submit their Affirmative Action Program to the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).

“OFCCP’s new online portal provides a mechanism to promote greater contractor attention to removing barriers to opportunity and evaluating employment practices,” said OFCCP Director Jenny Yang.

Affirmative action requirements help ensure that applicants and employees of federal contractors have equal employment opportunity without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. Contractors within OFCCP’s jurisdiction that meet certain contract dollar and employee thresholds are required to develop and maintain Affirmative Action Programs and certify compliance annually.

Federal contractors and subcontractors who are new to the Affirmative Action Program may register on the portal beginning February 1, 2022 and certify on it beginning March 31, 2022. Contractors already in the Affirmative Action Program will be required to certify their compliance by June 30, 2022.
