Vote for the Top School Custodian

March 17, 2022

Cintas Corp. has announced the 10 finalists for its annual Custodian of the Year contest.

The contest, now in its ninth year, called for elementary, middle, high school, and college students, in addition to staff, to submit a short essay describing why their school’s custodian deserves the award. Ten finalists have been selected from a pool of hundreds of submissions. The public is invited to vote for its top pick at www.custodianoftheyear.com through April 15.

The winning custodian will receive US$10,000 and an additional $5,000 in Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Cintas products for his/her school. The winner’s school will also receive a comprehensive training, development, and consultation package from ISSA valued at $20,000 and enrollment in the GBAC Fundamentals Online Course, provided by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), a Division of ISSA. The nine runners-up will each receive $1,000 and free tuition to one ISSA Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) training event, valued at up to $1,500.

“This is our third year sponsoring the contest and we continue to be inspired by the hard work and dedication of the top 10 finalists,” said ISSA Executive Director John Barrett. “Custodians are such positive role models at schools and truly leave a lasting impression for those they work with. We’re thankful to be a part of this contest and to help give recognition to the top 10 finalists.”
