Bed Bugs, Rodents & Angry Parents Infest Washington, D.C. School

An infestation of rats and bedbugs at Savoy Elementary School in Southeast Washington, D.C. left parents frustrated with the school’s lack of response and transparency.

In a recent letter issued to parents, the school stated that professionals were recently hired and materials such as rugs, blankets, and pillows will be removed followed by a health and safety inspection of the entire school. However, parents voiced their disapproval, saying their actions are too little too late.

“This is not how you should notify parents of rats and bed bugs,” one parent told Fox-6 News. “I had to see it on the news. Then, the school doesn’t notify the parents until four days later.”
