Cleaning Day at Ronald McDonald House

Students from St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School in Joplin, MO, spent a day cleaning, cooking, and doing chores for the Ronald McDonald House of the Four States.

This recent visit marks the 10th anniversary of the yearly cleaning day, started by Emily Lone, a fifth grade teacher at St. Mary’s

“My child was born with cancer, and we stayed up at the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City,” Lone told the Four State Homepage. “It was such an experience to be able to stay there and see so many people give to help us survive during a hard time of our life. When I came back to teaching the following year, I wanted to do the exact same thing.”
