As the vice president of human resources (HR) at building services contractor 4M Building Solutions, I am proud to share my journey and my dedication to our team members and the cleaning industry. I am focused on driving growth and opportunities for 4M’s employees.
I have been working in the cleaning industry since 2007. It was a new industry for me, but upon entering it, I quickly realized it is the people’s industry (estamos en la industria de la gente) and that the people working within the industry are driving it, often without the support and recognition they deserve. What continues to attract me to the cleaning industry is the ability to create opportunities for our front-line professionals and the chance to make a tangible impact on our team members’ career advancement and personal growth.
Empowering the people
I was inspired to join ISSA’s VEO initiative when it began last year because it aligns perfectly with my passion for helping front-line workers succeed, giving them visión, empeño (effort), and oportunidad (opportunity).
I have been championing the VEO movement by partnering with 4M’s executive team to redefine workplace culture. I am proud to support programs that develop future leaders.
My involvement with VEO enables me to provide a platform to advocate for the advancement of Hispanic professionals and to champion inclusion within the industry. It was about time! (Ya era hora!)
Fueling my career
Through my work with VEO, I have gained a deeper understanding of how to better support our diverse workforce and ensure that opportunities are accessible in every language. It has reinforced the importance of compassion, loyalty, and strength in leadership.
As a recipient of the 2025 ISSA VEO Visionario Award, I am incredibly honored and proud. It is a tremendous validation of the hard work my team and I put into our culture, and it inspires me to continue driving meaningful change.
I look forward to continuing to empower our team members and to building a culture of growth and opportunity in the cleaning industry.
