Humane Society Goes Green and Clean with PathoSans

PathoSans

The nonprofit Coastal Humane Society (CHS) of Maine operates two animal shelters in the Mid-Coast region of Maine, caring for more than 4,500 animals annually.

According to Joe Montisano, executive director, that means daily cleaning and disinfecting to remove frequent animal messes, followed by weekly deep cleaning and disinfecting.

After a search for an effective, sustainable way to clean, Montisano selected the PathoSans® system that provides onsite generation of cleaning and sanitizing solutions by electrolyzing tap water.

PathoSans produces a powerful cleaner, PathoClean®, and a disinfectant, PathoCide®, with excellent performance, reduced toxicity, and no unwanted or residual chemicals.

Montisano chose PathoSans for a “Trifecta” of benefits:

  1. Both solutions offer reduced toxicity to people, animals, and the environment.
  2. PathoCide kills 99.99% of bacteria in seconds not minutes, making facilities hygienic in less time, while significantly reducing odors.
  3. Cost savings and economics: The Coastal Humane Society system has a payback of less than one year.

PathoSans drives sustainability by eliminating buying, shipping, storing, handling, and disposing of most conventional cleaning chemicals and their packaging while producing a greener cleaner and disinfectant—and reducing the use of packaged chemicals by up to 85 to 90 percent.PathoSans

PathoClean is Green Seal-certified and works as well as the best conventional cleaning products, at a cost of 3 to 7 cents per gallon.

“PathoCide costs just pennies per gallon and sanitizing occurs within 10 seconds, compared to 10 to 15 minutes with the previous chemical product—and without harsh exposures,” notes Montisano.

The PathoSans solutions are easy-to-use, require no mixing, and reduce or eliminate surface film. The cleaner has a 120-day-or-greater shelf life, and the disinfectant a 30-day shelf life.

“There are many advantages, and simply no downside,” Montisano concludes.

Adopting the PathoSans environmentally-preferable cleaning and disinfecting system for onsite generation of solutions enables CHS to save money for a better bottom line while being truly green.
