Top-Fill Dispenser and Foaming Soap Secure Significant Savings

As facility managers are asked to trim budgets, they should consider the significant savings obtained by combining Kutol’s foaming soap with its innovative EZ Foam Counter Mount dispenser. Didlake Inc., a provider of contract services, experienced many of these savings first-hand.

Through the AbilityOne Program, Didlake’s contracts cover almost 20 million square feet of government property in the Washington D.C. area, including the Pentagon and FDA Headquarters.

More than 75% of its contract workers are people with significant disabilities, so ease-of-use is very important. Didlake discovered that using Kutol’s counter mount dispensers with foaming soap returned significant savings in both labor and product costs while making the job much easier on its employees.

Labor Savings

Each EZ Foam Counter Mount dispenser was installed in five minutes or less. Once installed, Didlake’s staff never again had to crawl under the counter or remove an ADA sink panel to change refill cartridges. Removing the ADA panel can be a very difficult and time consuming process, sometimes requiring tools and assistance from maintenance. With the EZ Foam system, this extra labor and expense was avoided.

The innovative dispenser design allows Didlake’s cleaning personnel to fill the dispenser from above the counter using a unique re-sealable docking station and refill bag. With no special keys required, they simply remove the pump, insert the refill into the docking station and allow the soap to flow into the dispenser.

A single refill bag can refill one completely empty dispenser or top-off multiple dispensers. Once the dispenser is filled, the refill process stops automatically so bags can be removed without accidental dripping or overfill. The process is quickly repeated on the next dispenser saving significant time and labor.

Soap Savings

With other dispensing systems, you may have to remove ADA panels and crawl under the counter to replace refills. Due to the complexity of this process, many contractors will throw away partially filled cartridges. Since Didlake’s personnel “tops-off” dispensers with EZ Foam, they never have to throw away a partially filled cartridge. This feature alone can lead to 20-30% in soap savings.

In addition, the EZ Foam system uses only only .75 mL of foam soap per handwash versus 1.0-1.5 mL needed with most liquid hand soap systems…another 25-50% soap savings!

Water Savings

Because foam soap is pre-lathered, it reduces lather up and rinse time by five seconds or more per handwash, which means less time the faucet is running. Water savings can add up quickly with an estimated 66 gallons of water saved for every 1,000 handwashes.
